As society accelerates toward profit and performance, Rito Grace Madingana rewrites the narrative gracefully, powerfully and with intention. A proud South African woman with roots that run deep and a voice that echoes purpose, Rito is not merely a name in the fashion and beauty space she is a force. A curator of culture, a bearer of heritage and a beacon of modern African entrepreneurship.
“I’m Rito Grace Madingana a proud South African woman, deeply rooted in my heritage and passionate about using every platform I occupy to drive purpose and impact.”
Her words are not mere introductions they are declarations.
From Catwalks to Cultural Crusades
The journey began on the runway, where Rito’s commanding presence turned heads. But behind that poised silhouette was a deeper ambition: to
“celebrate African identity, challenge narrow beauty standards, and tell stories that matter.”
Modeling gave her a spotlight. Entrepreneurship gave her a legacy.
Earthly by Rito & Co: A Brand with a Soul
Today, she leads Earthly by Rito & Co, a skincare brand that is as intentional as it is inspiring. Born from her passion for natural wellness and African wisdom, Earthly is not just about beauty it’s about remembrance.
“I’ve always been passionate about natural wellness, and I wanted to offer skincare that was not only kind to the body but kind to the earth too. The brand uses ethically sourced ingredients from African soil and is driven by a mission to reconnect people with nature and themselves.”
Her impact is reshaping the beauty landscape, inspiring creators to go green and go local.
“It’s been incredible to see how our brand has inspired other local creators to embrace eco-conscious practices and celebrate African botanicals on a global stage.”
Leading with Purpose, Scaling with Values
Her CEO title is not a badge it’s a mission. Rito’s vision transcends products. It’s about people. Partnerships. Planet.
“Earthly by Rito & Co isn’t just a beauty brand it’s an ecosystem of empowerment,” she says.
She has built a value-driven supply chain that partners with farmers and supports small-scale producers. Everything she touches must uplift.
“Every product we create is a reflection of our values, and every decision we make is guided by the question: “How can this uplift lives?” I’m passionate about economic inclusion and creating systems where communities can thrive. So, for me, this role isn’t just business it’s social activism in action,” Rito reflects.
Modeling with Meaning
Her modeling career is more than a glossy past it’s a living, breathing tribute to African pride.
“Modeling gave me a voice before I even knew how to use it fully. It taught me how to carry my heritage with pride and turn every campaign, runway, or editorial into a celebration of Africa. But more than that, it gave me a platform to invest in others. I’ve mentored young creatives, collaborated with local designers, and supported cultural projects that keep our traditions alive. I’ve always believed that representation is the first step but real impact comes when we reinvest that visibility into building others up,” Rito recalls.
It became a vehicle for mentorship, cultural preservation and investing in others.
Philanthropy and Business, Seamlessly Intertwined
Rito doesn’t separate her missions. She aligns them.
“My business and philanthropic work aren’t separate they feed into each other.”
The RRI Foundation her philanthropic arm channels Earthly’s success into community projects around education, agriculture, and wellness.
“I also believe in collaboration, so I partner with organizations and institutions that share our goals. It’s not easy, but when your mission is clear, you find ways to align every project to a shared vision.”
Resilience in the Face of Resistance
Like all visionaries, Rito has met her share of roadblocks. But she scaled them with grace and grit.
“From struggling to access funding to navigating spaces where my voice wasn’t always heard or respected it’s been a test of resilience. One of the biggest hurdles was scaling sustainably growing the business without losing our core values. I overcame that by building a strong team that believes in our mission and by being transparent with our customers. I learned to ask for help, to stay open to learning, and to stay true to the “why” behind it all,” she reflects.
Her resilience is rooted in clarity of purpose and collective belief.
“When the purpose is bigger than the obstacle, you keep going.”
Fostering Culture Through Connection
Through the RRI Foundation, Rito champions social cohesion in the most human way: by listening.
“Communities know what they need they just need to be heard,” she says.
From youth sports to cultural festivals, her initiatives prioritize participation, identity, and safe expression. Rito doesn’t see silos she sees systems.
“Earthly is the economic arm, showing how ethical business can thrive. The RRI Foundation is the social arm tackling systemic issues like education, food security, and entrepreneurship. Together, they reflect my belief that sustainable growth must include everyone from rural farmers to urban creatives.”
Her projects span rural farms to urban design hubs, bound by one goal: inclusive, sustainable growth.
Behind the scenes of her empire is a woman who guards her time like sacred ground.
“I plan my week in advance, block time for focused work, and protect moments for rest and reflection. I also delegate there’s no way I could do it all without an incredible team. I prioritize self-care too, because I’ve learned that burnout serves no one. Mindfulness helps me stay grounded, and passion keeps me going. When you truly love what you do, even the busiest days feel meaningful.”
With mindfulness, delegation, and passion, even the busiest days feel intentional.
The Green Future is Now
What excites Rito? The intersection of innovation and ethics. Think: biodegradable packaging, AI skincare, and ethical tech.
“I’m really inspired by the rise of sustainability-driven innovation like biodegradable materials, ethical tech and AI in personalized skincare. I’m currently working on expanding Earthly into wellness retreats that combine healing, nature, and African spirituality. We’re also building an agri-innovation hub through the RRI Foundation that empowers youth to see farming as a future, not a fallback. The future is green, local, and community-led and I’m excited to keep building spaces where that vision becomes reality,” Rito concludes.
Rito is a force of graceful ambition and purposeful leadership. Simultaneously serving as Executive Assistant at KHOLEBA Constructions and Treasurer at the RRI Foundation, Rito exemplifies balance between business acumen and social responsibility.
Her global influence extends through her roles as SA BRICS Ambassador, Delegate at the International Economic Forum in Russia and UM6P African Youth Leader in Morocco championing economic development, youth empowerment and cultural pride across continents.
