The National Organization of Entrepreneurs (ONE) has unveiled “Future Boss,” a first-of-its-kind program in Tunisia that targets students aged 13 to 18. By providing hands-on training, mentorship and exposure to industry, the initiative aims to nurture entrepreneurial talent from an early age and encourage the development of innovative business projects.
The program selected 20 students, both boys and girls from different regions of the country, to participate in an intensive two-month practical training course from June 15 to August 9. Participants gained firsthand experience through a combination of scientific workshops, field visits to factories specializing in shipbuilding and car batteries, and pitch sessions before economic experts. These experiences provided the students with a clear understanding of how businesses operate and what it takes to bring a concept to market.
ONE president Yassine Gouiaa highlighted that this program is the first in Tunisia to integrate students at such a young age into the world of entrepreneurship. By exposing participants early to entrepreneurial concepts, the initiative is designed to instill the skills, confidence and mindset needed to pursue business ventures successfully.
The training encouraged students to develop and refine their own business projects. Through practical exercises, mentorship and expert feedback, participants learned critical thinking, problem-solving and presentation skills that will serve them in future entrepreneurial pursuits. By combining theory with practical learning, the program ensures that students leave not only with ideas but also with the ability to execute them effectively.
The closing ceremony, held on August 9 at the Université Centrale headquarters, celebrated the achievements of the students and recognized seven standout project ideas. These projects, chosen for their creativity and viability, reflect the potential of Tunisia’s youth to identify market opportunities and propose innovative solutions. The awards provide recognition and motivation, encouraging students to continue developing their entrepreneurial abilities.
Following the ceremony, the “After School” incubator will support participants in transforming their projects into real businesses. By providing ongoing mentorship, access to resources and guidance on business development, the incubator ensures that the students’ ideas are nurtured beyond the classroom and have a pathway to generate economic impact.
The launch of “Future Boss” is part of ONE’s broader strategy to promote entrepreneurship among young people in Tunisia. By engaging students before they enter higher education or the workforce, the initiative aims to foster an entrepreneurial mindset early, cultivating resilience, creativity and problem-solving skills that will benefit individuals and the wider economy.
Programs like “Future Boss” demonstrate how structured training, practical experience and mentorship can empower youth to transform ideas into tangible businesses. By combining education with hands-on exposure and professional guidance, Tunisia is investing in the next generation of entrepreneurs who can drive innovation, create jobs and contribute to the country’s economic development.
With initiatives like this, Tunisia is setting a precedent for youth entrepreneurship programs across the region. By equipping students with the tools to succeed in business, the country is not only fostering individual growth but also building a dynamic ecosystem that supports innovation, strengthens industries and creates pathways for sustained economic impact.
